The Silent Hill franchise has spawned multiple games and movies since the first title was released on Playstation on January 31st, 1999. It’s a survival horror game franchise that’s known for being fairly hit or miss and polarizing among the gaming community. However, what it will probably forever be known for now is the voided promise of the PT demo.
For those who don’t know, the PT demo was a game tech demo that turned out to be for the newest entry in the Silent Hill franchise. It was the brain-child of legendary game maker Hideo Kojima and horror film director Guillermo Del Toro. Even people who weren’t fans of horror games loved the demo, which promised to bring Silent Hill back to its roots while also possibly giving the franchise its first ever first-person perspective title.
No Konami, the publisher who owns the rights to the Silent Hill franchise, is a laughing stock and is apparently out to ruin their IPs as much as they can with shitty mobile pachinko machines and generically bland games.
At least we’ll always have these badass Silent Hill tattoos.
