I Love Lucy was a popular black-and-white American sitcom in the 1950s starring Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance and William Frawley. It was the first scripted television program to be shot on 35 mm film in front of a studio audience and won five Emmy Awards in its 6 years on the air. For four of its six seasons, I Love Lucy was the most watched television show in the United States.
Saying “was” probably isn’t right though. The show is still syndicated all around the world to this day and continues to capture the eyes of 40 million Americans each year. It’s regarded as one of the most influential sitcoms in history and been voted as the Best TV Show of All Time by a People Magazine survey.
It’s no wonder so many people have stunning I Love Lucy tattoos like the ones in the gallery below.
