Masterful Bond Tattoos

James Bond was created in 1953 by writer Ian Fleming, who featured the spy across twelve novels and two short-story collections. Unfortunately Mr. Fleming passed away in 1964. However James Bond survived his passing and has since been written by eight other authors, with the most recent novel having been written by Anthony Horowitz and published in 2015.

But the literary Bond probably isn’t the version you care about or are most familiar with. While he may have been introduced in literary form, it’s the movie Bonds that the majority of people associate alongside the name.

The first movie, Dr. No, was released in 1962 and featured Sean Connery as the iconic spy. Based directly on one of Ian Fleming’s book by the same name, the first film was a massive hit. It was made for $1.1 million and brought in $59.5 million at the box office. As of the time this was written, in August of 2016, there have been 24 James Bonds feature films and 13 different actors have had the honor of playing one of the most famous fictional spies in the world.

Of course, with a list of films so incredibly long and spanning over 40 years, the quality and average critical reception of each film and different person playing bond has greatly fluctuated from superb to outright horrendous. The current James Bond actor, Daniel Craig, has been a polarizing figure throughout the last three bond movies. Although it looks like we might be getting a new Bond rather soon.

All that being said, the tattoos in this gallery largely take a look back at some of the classically famous bonds of years long past. Everyone has their own person favorite, which is why you’ll see a few different famous acting faces depicted here.

We hope you enjoy this gallery as much as you enjoy your favorite Bond film. (Or book, if you’re one of the few nowadays who still reads such things.)
