The X-Files initially aired on television from September 10th, 1993 to May 19th, 2002. It had a massive cult following and received mixed ratings by critics throughout its run before coming back for a six-episode tenth season in 2016 with many of the original cast members reprising their iconic roles.
The show was around and garnered a massive following back when fans of sci-fi and horror were starving for content. Television hadn’t gone through the renaissance period we see today, which is probably why The X-Files doesn’t tend to hold up well with newer audiences. The 10th season currently holds 58% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Regardless of how you feel about the show or the franchise in general though, you can’t deny that these X-Files tattoos are simply stunning. Of course most of them feature the two main characters, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, but the repetitive symbols are tempered by a vast array of design options and variance. You’re sure to find a tattoo you like in this gallery even if you didn’t like the show.
